EARTH│BODY│MIND
November 22 – December 21, 2012
The Kathmandu International Art Festival is the largest international art event held in Nepal and will be held as a nonprofit, noncommercial festival every three years by the Siddhartha Arts Foundation. Each edition of the festival is based on a particular theme. The festival is about bringing like-minded individuals together in a contemporary aesthetic experience. This is about art for a social cause.
The mission of the festival is to firmly place Nepal on the global map as a venue for the contemporary arts, allow for artistic collaboration and exchange among international and local artists, and use art as a platform for critical reflection and the sensitization of society.
In the 2nd KIAF, EARTH│BODY│MIND, artists from 31 countries explore complexities around issues such as urbanization, water, ecology, food security, natural resources, and biodiversity that have been impacted by environmental degradation and climate change.)
Slav Nedev participated in the 2nd festival in Kathmandu, Nepal, with prints of his project "Biotope" – urban space installation dedicated to the overconsumption and overproduction of garbage in contemporary society.
