„Limbs and Spines: New Video from Poland” is a program of video-art works that share the common perspective of integrity and fragmentation of the body. The presented works vary on their themes and interests. We will find here works of critical approach that touches upon the discourse of history, the ethics between women and queer poeple in the power situation of education, or the status of the document. Other videos are of more subjective attitude, and refer directly to the body as the common expderience of every human being.
The term „body” is used when speaking not only about the physical body, but also about everything that is conceptualized as an entity: nation, culture, company, etc. Each body consists of structural elements: bones, which are connected with joints. Bones and joints, when understood structurally, work as an inter-subjective communcation.
The presented works refer to the issue of body as a whole, where whole - is not always the whole of the body.

Kamil Malinowski (1984) is a visual arts curator based in Warsaw, Poland. He has recently curated programs Foreigners in their Homeland for the Public Preparation workshop „Golden Age” (KUMU, Tallinn, Mar 2009), and Under the Skin: New Video from Poland in New Museum, New York (Feb 2008). He took part in conferences and workshops, such as: „Working title: Archive” in Museum of Art Łódź (Apr 2009); „Psychoanalysis, Culture, Interpretation” at the University of Warsaw (May 2008), Promotion of Polish culture abroad, University of Warsaw (Dec 2006), and others. In cooperation with Kasia Dobrowolska, Kamil Malinowski is developing his first project in Warsaw: producing and exhibiting of the new work by Daniela Kostova (NYC|Sofia), on the today-destroyed Russian Orthodox Church: sobór Alexander Nevski in Warsaw.
