Ottjörg A.C. and ICA-Sofia invite you to play and built a mini-model of the art world in EPOFACT (Epochal Artefact).
Because art doesn't have to be dead seriously. Because art reflects economic and social processes, but in the end it remains mostly a game.
Can you imagine Paris without the Louvre? Can you imagine the Louvre without
the Mona Lisa? Can you explain why an artefact or idea has worldwide recognition? How do they grab attention beyond the moment, stay in the social conversation and become history? Neither do we.
But in the staging of ЕPOFAKT, you as our fellow players can experience the path to success, be artists, jurors, curators and art mediators, trendsetters. We start from scratch, in a surreal context without the Louvre and the Guggenheim Foundation, without trendsetters and with an empty art market. This gives you the opportunity to help identify the first trendsetter, or perhaps take that trendsetting position yourself. Using strategy and cooperating with other players, participants experience the processes an artist must go through to achieve success in the art world. Imperceptibly, the "art market" is becoming saturated. Team synergies are reflected in signs and structures. Goal-oriented, some will make their way to the ever-expanding EPOFAKT museum.
EPOFAKT's staging reflects aspects and rules of the art market, but since there is no other business like the art world, anything is possible by the end of the evening.

Ottjörg A.C. (Heidelberg 1958) studied philosophy and journalism at the Free University of Berlin and fine arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna with A. Hrdlicka, Repin Institute St. Petersburg with Prof. Pakhomov and received last Meisterschüler award Udk Berlin with Rolf Szymanski.
The implementation of global conceptual projects at the local level is characteristic of the artistic position of Ottjörg A.C.. Human encounters in this case are as necessary as consistency of craftsmanship and technique. Its working environment includes both the Internet and real space movement, the pen or pencil, the camera and the gravure printing press. Ottjörg A.C. developed his artistic practice on a global scale with art projects crossing territories from New York to Porto Alegre; from Sao Paulo to Guangzhou; Petersburg to Cairo. His biography spreads not so much in time as in wide geographical spaces, connecting places, events and cultures.
