The Hungarian Pavilion has won the Golden Lion for Best National Participation of the 52^nd International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. This year it featured Andreas Fogarasi’s project Kultur und Freizeit (Culture and Leisure), curated by Katalin Timár.

The other awardees of the 52nd Venice Biennale are:

Malick Sidibé – Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement
León Ferrari – Golden Lion to an artist exhibited in the central international exhibition
Emily Jacir– Golden Lion to an artist under age 40 exhibited in the central international exhibition or in the national participations
Benjamin Buchloh – Golden Lion to an art critic or an art historian for his or her contribution to contemporary art
Nedko Solakov – Honourable Mention
Lithuanian Pavilion – Honourable Mention.
