This event is dedicated to MICHEL RITTER, Director of the Centre culturel suisse, who passed away this May and conceived the project.

L’EUROPE EN DEVENIR (Europe of the future) deals with an important moment in history of which we are all witnesses. Europe’s growth has spanned a half-century. Its development has been uneven, sometimes alluring and sometimes disappointing.

The programme, which is split into two parts, hopes to analyse Europe and its construction, raise questions, give food for thought, outline possibilities and shift debate from the high political, economic and academic places to a cultural and citizen’s forum.

In the first part, taking place from 09.09 to 28.10, artists linked to Switzerland will present their thoughts about Europe. Subsequently, from 11.11 to 30.12, the independent commissioner based in Berlin, MARIUS BABIAS, will present an exhibition of artists from the New Europe.
