Crouch-Art
3, Fridtjof Nansen St., Sofia
The Crouch (klek)-Art Basement Project of ICA-Sofia is an exhibition space, located on the border between the city street and the city building – it is in a typical Sofia basement. The notorious Sofia klek(crouch)-shop, a typical witness to the period of economical and political transformation after 1989, is used as a model. Just like theklek(crouch)-shop situation of shopping, the shows in the ICA-Sofia’s Crouch(klek)-Art Basement Project require the viewer to bend down and crouch, which might be taken as a sign of respect and participation.
